How do you keep your nylons perfect while travelling?
Our vintage sisters had a few tricks up their sleeves and used home-made stocking wallets to keep their nylons safe. Designed to holda few pairs of seamed stockings they ensure that your nylons don't get damaged in your suitcase.
Katie shows you some of her vintage collection as well as our repro version.
Vintage Stocking Wallets
Marianne Cheesecake looks adorable in vintage eau de nil. The vintage stocking wallet, along with the vintage eau de nil camiknicker which I came across at a vintage event in England.
Both are handmade and match in colour perfectly. I've love to know the history behind these pieces.
The little stocking wallet is only designed to hold one or two pairs of nylons making it perfect for a weekend away. If you want to travel light then it's totally possible to rinse out your nylons overnight and hang them up to dry in the bathroom to wear the next day.
Talking of which, you could also purchase a mini travelling clothes line just for your nylons.
This is the only one I've ever seen in all my years of collecting vintage, so they can't have been very common.
If you can't find your own vintage stocking wallet help is at hand as we've made our own reproduction version inspired by a 1940s piece. Whether your heading to Dapper Day, Viva Las Vegas or any of the other vintage festivals be sure to grab one to ensure you're precious nylons stay pristine.
